The Alumni Advisory Board will promote and foster a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship between the Alumni, Waltrip High School, its students, and the community to support the mission, goals, and traditions of the Waltrip High School, Houston, Texas. In support of this mission, the Alumni Advisory Board and the Waltrip Alumni Association work together to
Provide guidance, advice, support and leadership on issues surrounding the alumni association including leadership development, long range and strategic planning, alumni cultivation, communications, and philanthropy.

The Waltrip Alumni Association Advisory Board held its first meeting on October 1, 2011 and discussed the various aspects of the association's mission statement. Board members offered suggestions as to the ways and methods of seeking contributions and donations to the association as well as implementing a strategy for securing funds for the association's scholarship, stipends, and capital improvement funds.
