                                      IGA AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2011

The Imperial Guard alumnae awarded its 2011 scholarships to six outstanding applicants.  They are Waltrip graduates Michael Barrera who plans to attend U of H, Daniel Bush planning to attend UT to study writing, Katie McClosky (a third time winner) who attends U of H studying physical therapy, Gabriela Mejia planning to attend A & M to study civil engineering, and Jessica Wiggins who plans to study nursing beginning at HCC or LSC and moving on to UT or A & M to complete her studies. Another winner is Nicole Steakley who is studying music therapy at TCU. Congratulations to each one of our winners.

Although only six scholarships were available, there were a number of talented, exceptional applicants. The selection process was difficult and IGA wants to commend and thank each applicant for his/her interest. We encourage all future applicants to use our website (www.imperialguardalumnae.org) to be informed about the application process and deadline dates for next year.
